Nishi is an Indian-American who was born in India but grew up in New York, USA from the age of 5. Since she was a child, she loved to sing, dance and to write and began writing songs at the age of 9. Her parents promoted her strong love of music and encouraged her to sing and dance for cultural functions. At the age of 18, she began performing on stage. At 22, she put aside many of her musical aspirations for the pursuit of law and is now an attorney in NYC. Law, she learned however, was not where her heart was, and in 2004 she met with independent producers and recently finished the production of a demo of 6 songs she had written. Her greatest dream now is to sing and share her music with the world.

    With the voice of an angel and beauty to match, Nishi is set to bring her own unique blend of Indo-Pop to America; but, she is quick to tell you that Indian music isn't what she's about. Although definitely influenced by her Indian heritage, Nishi's music is a unique blend of Indian rhythm, American Pop, Alternative Rock and Bluesgrass. She attributes her influences to artists such as Loreena McKennitt and Sarah McLachlan, to bands such as Creed and rock influences of the late 80's and early 90's such as Guns n' Roses and Aerosmith. Nishi has written over 200 songs varying in range from love ballads to soul-searching rock songs and many sexy dance numbers.

Her tastes are an indication of the diversity and range of her music and vocal abilities. Indian music is the tip of the iceberg for this multi-talented artist.
