As an actress, Nishi has performed in stage & musical theater in New York City in both lead & supporting roles, contributed to musical productions as a songwriter, and has acted in both feature films & short films in lead & supporting roles and has acted for television and music videos. Nishi believes strongly in being humble and believes the stage & screen are meant to serve the audience enlightenment as well as beauty & entertainment. As a professional singer/songwriter, Nishi is an Indian-American pop, rock, folk & dance artist & performs throughout NYC. She released her 1st EP in 2005/2006 and just launched her new dance single, Release Me which has garnered wonderful press & media. Since 2006, Nishi has worked on 9 films (working on her 10th this Fall 2011), worked on 1 dance music video (not her own), worked professionally on television 1 time and appeared 3 more times as an entertainment celebrity & has full working knowledge of greenscreens & video prompters. Nishi has also performed in 9 plays and musicals, two of which were filmed and 1 for international broadcast by satellite network. This Fall 2011, Nishi will begin filming a new television series, Nishi & Ali Take New York where Nishi stars as the host bringing the hidden treasures of New York City to viewers in India, Pakistan, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, Canada and here in the U.S. Nishi will also begin filming her newest feature No One Lives Forever directed by Joseph Villapaz & perform as the dancing vampire Vixen in the dramatic stage play Dracula and the demon goddess in the dramatic & comedic musical Angels, Giants & Monster. Nishi is also in preparations to film the music video for Release Me in October to be released together with her new album in November. The video will co-star as her romantic lead Kal Parekh who is co-starring in the new ABC TV series 'Pan Am' & is directed by Eliyas Qureshi. Finally, Nishi is casting actors this Fall/Winter 2011 to produce her own Indian musical she wrote in 2010, The Rajah's Son & Princess Labam - An Indian Fairytale Musical based on an old Indian folktale. - see Nishi's Official Facebook Page for the casting notice.
